Today Camp Riverwood took a field trip to Camp Green Acres! Our campers spent the day enjoying the scenery on tractor rides and taking part in some of the excellent optionals that Green Acres has on site. Including High Ropes, Archery, Mountain Biking, Kangoo Jumps and Basketball. We had an amazing day full of fun!
Today, with the support of our friends from B Smart, our campers had the privilege of choosing one or two books to take home for free! What an amazing way to encourage the importance of literacy and remind everyone that reading is fun!

It has been another great week here at Camp Riverwood. It is the end of the week and that means it was time for another Friday Theme Day! This Friday was Toronto Spirit Day! All of our campers and staff were decked out in their best attire to show the support of their favorite Toronto sports teams. Support was shown to big teams such as Toronto Blue Jays, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Toronto Raptors and Toronto FC. What an amazing way to cap off week 5!
Yesterday ended off with a BOUNCE thanks to our friends Tiffany and Daniel from Bounce Entertainment! They had everyone up on their feet, dancing and having a great time. We can’t wait until we get to party with them again!

Our campers had a wonderful time playing tennis at the Dunnmore Tennis Court today. They practiced their front hand swings, back hand swings and their footwork. They started the day with a good warm up followed by a stretch ensuring no one got an injury.
After a couple of practice rallies they were all playing like professionals. By the end of the week we will have a bunch of Serenas at the camp.
The campers who attended the golf optional this morning had an amazing time at Carruthers Creek Golf & Country Club. They were able to drive their golf balls as far as they could at the beautiful driving range. Our golf campers also got to work on reducing their number of strokes using Carruthers state of the art golf simulator. The simulator was able to calculate the distance, speed, and height of each golf ball hit. Our golfers were certainly gearing up to have a fun week at their golf optional.
Camp days are finally back! This week, we welcomed 243 new and familiar faces to Camp Riverwood!
We laughed, we danced, we played, we swam, and we saw a baby kangaroo, two parrots, a snake, a ferret, a chinchilla, and so much more.
Along with our furry friends, we had other cool programs. We had Magic with Bob the Magician where our campers learned all kinds of fun tricks. We also had Play With Clay run by our very own counselors, where we made many beautiful sculptures to take home to Mom and Dad.
Some of our campers trained to become the next Michael Phelps at our instructional swim program, while others tried to be Gabby Douglas at our tumbling & trampoline course. And let’s not forget our many new horseback riders!
With the help of our lovely counselors & creative campers, the first week of camp was one to remember. To all our outgoing campers, we hope you had a great time at Camp Riverwood and to all our returning friends, we can’t wait to see you again!
