Associate Director (AD)

The associate director is responsible for the overall success of the camp. Ensuring the safety of all campers and staff is the highest priority. The AD handles most of the logistics at camp including creating cabin schedules, communicating with parents and bus company. The AD will oversee pre-camp training with the staff and ongoing evaluations of staff, both formal and informal; also, the AD will ensure the smooth running of all the activities and programs throughout the day.  The AD is also a great resource for staff in addition to the Unit Head and Assistant Unit Head when it comes to handling difficult situations with campers and staff. Own transportation is required, visit us at www.campriverwood.com or call the camp office at 905-428-0042
Skills/interests/qualifications required:

Experience managing both children and staff is important. Strong organization and communication skills. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with lesson plans and program plans is an asset. Enthusiasm is a must!

Location: Petticoat Creek Conservation Area in Pickering

Dates of Employment: Part Time starting May 1 (Flexible). Full time from June 29 until August 28

Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Days: Monday thru Friday

Transportation: Own Transportation Required

Unit Head 

Job Description

Unit heads will be responsible for a group of staff (approximately 40) and campers (approximately 200). Unit heads will be responsible for planning, organizing, and programming unit events, as well as camp wide events. Unit heads will also be dealing with camper issues, staff, and parent questions and concerns. Ultimately you are responsible for ensuring that campers and staff have the safest, happiest and most memorable summer of their lives and that the staff are involved and motivated. Skills/interests/qualifications required:

Previous camp experience, programming experience or leadership experience is required. Organization is key. Strong communication skills. Ability to work as a team. Enthusiasm and creativity is a must!

Dates of Employment: Part Time starting May 1 (Flexible). Full time from June 29 until August 28 (End date is flexible).
